'He said to me' - Insider shares what Galatasaray coach told him about Osimhen's permanent transfer
Published: December 07, 2024Galatasaray insider Burhan Can Terzi has shared what manager Okan Buruk told him regarding Osimhen potentially joining the Istanbul side on a permanent deal at the conclusion of the 2024-2025 season.
The reigning African Footballer of the Year switched to the Super Lig champions in September after failed moves to Premier League giants Chelsea and Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli on deadline day in the top five European leagues.
Osimhen has had a blistering start to his career in Turkey, scoring nine goals and producing five assists in twelve matches across all competitions.
The loan deal that took the Napoli-owned player to Istanbul contains a break clause that would allow him to join any club that meets his price tag during the January transfer window.
However, Osimhen has made it clear that he intends to complete his loan at Galatasaray, which ends on June 30, 2025.
Galatasaray are keen to sign Osimhen on a permanent deal, but in reality, the transfer is nearly impossible, even though the Lion are expecting a capital injection of 100 million euros.
Speaking on the Sportcell Youtube channel, via habersarikirmizi.com, Burhan Can Terzi said: "Regarding the Osimhen transfer, the Galatasaray manager said to me, 'If Osimhen tells us in May that he doesn't want to stay in Napoli,' 'We can take him if we want, we will have that financial freedom.'
"There have been new sales at Leo Residence, 1.7 billion TL is expected. A total of 100 million euros of input is expected with the capital increase."
Napoli valued Osimhen at 130 million euros during the summer transfer window, but the fee has since been reduced to 75 million euros, valid for the summer of 2025.
