Crystal Palace make transfer decision on talented striker who trained with Flying Eagles in 2023
Published: December 29, 2024
Crystal Palace have reportedly made a strategic decision to recall talented Nigerian striker Ademola Ola-Adebomi from his loan spell at Belgian club SK Beveren, as reported by Football Insider.
This move comes after Ola-Adebomi's challenging time in Belgium, where he has struggled to find form and game time.
Ola-Adebomi, who began his journey through the youth ranks at Crystal Palace, has yet to make his debut for the English Premier League club.
His potential was recognized earlier in 2023 when he trained with the Nigerian U20 team before the 2023 Fifa U20 World Cup.
In January 2024, Ola-Adebomi was loaned to Burton Albion, where he made a notable impact, participating in fourteen matches and netting one goal while producing two assists.
Following his spell at Burton Albion , Crystal Palace sent him on loan to SK Beveren, hoping he would continue his development in the Belgian second-tier.
However, the transition has not gone as planned for the young forward.
With the club sitting fifth in the second division in Belgium, Ola-Adebomi struggled to get game time, yet to score in eight appearances and has not seen any action since late October.
Recognizing the importance of consistent playing time for his development, Crystal Palace are reportedly looking to initiate another loan move for Ola-Adebomi.
Numerous clubs in EFL League One and League Two are reported to be keeping a close eye on the situation, with the hope to bolster their attacking options as the transfer window opens in the next 72 hours.
