Chelsea-reared attacking midfielder Eze targets Flying Eagles call-up after declaring for Nigeria
Published: January 14, 2025
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Chelsea's Cobham product Dubem Eze has pledged his international future to Nigeria over his country of birth, England.
The promising attacking midfielder, who is under contract with Bolton Wanderers until June 30, 2026, has been loaned out to non-league Chorley for the rest of the 2024-2025 season.
He began his career at Chelsea, where he spent approximately eight years, before having spells at Derby County and Norwich City, and eventually joined Bolton Wanderers last summer after a successful trial.
Eze is among the dual-national players targeting a call-up to the Flying Eagles ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Cup of Nations.
Predominantly an attacking midfielder, Eze can add flexibility to the Flying Eagles squad if called up, with the ability to play in various attacking positions such as left and right wing.
He has experienced a taste of first team football at his loan club Chorley, making twelve league appearances and scoring one goal.
His impressive displays led to him being named the Magpies Player of the Month for November 2024.
From April 26 to May 18, Ivory Coast will host the 2025 U20 Afcon, with the top four semifinalists qualifying for the Fifa U20 World Cup.
