Iwobi's second half brace not enough as Fulham lose five-goal thriller to West Ham United

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi delivered an outstanding performance, scoring twice for Fulham in their 3-2 Premier League defeat to West Ham at the London Stadium.

Iwobi, who started the match, scored both of Fulham's goals in the second half.

His first came in the 51st minute when he picked up the ball outside the box and, with plenty of time and space, lofted a chipped pass into the area.

The ball trickled past West Ham goalkeeper Łukasz Fabiański, putting Fulham back in the game at 2-1.

Meanwhile, West Ham had earlier taken a commanding 2-0 lead at halftime, with goals from Tomáš Souček and Carlos Soler scored within two minutes of each other.

After Lucas Paquetá extended West Ham's lead to 3-1, Iwobi responded with his second goal of the match.

He delivered a lofted ball into the box, which wrong-footed Fabiański as the oncoming Harry Wilson failed to connect with the ball, making it 3-2.

Iwobi was later substituted in the closing minutes of the game, with Rodrigo Muniz replacing him.

The Nigerian international has been a standout performer for Fulham this season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 21 league appearances, showcasing his influence both offensively and creatively.

The defeat marks Fulham's first loss in their last nine Premier League  matches.
