'He flicked 4, 5, 6 headers' - Plymouth coach hails 'bear of a player' Tijani after match-winning goal

Former Nigeria U20 international Muhamed Tijani earned rave reviews following his man of the match performance during Plymouth Argyle's come-from-behind win over Championship promotion hopefuls Sheffield United at Home Park on Saturday, April 12.

In a David versus Goliath clash, the Blades opened the scoring through Jesurun Rak-Sakyi in the 41st minute and were on the brink of registering another routine win, only to concede two late goals.

After Ryan Hardie equalized in the 81st minute, Tijani volleyed in what proved to the the winning goal with two minutes of regulation time remaining.

It was just his second goal for Plymouth Argyle following his loan move from Slavia Prague last summer.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Plymouth Argyle head coach Miron Muslic praised Tijani for his decisive impact in the club's dramatic win over Sheffield United, noting that the Nigerian forward quickly stamped his authority on the game with his physical presence.

The Austrian tactician highlighted the striker's aerial dominance, which allowed Plymouth to maintain attacking pressure in the latter stages of the match.

"I want to win with Tijani the last 30 minutes because we wanted to win the game. It's not about losing this game 2-0 or 3-0," Miron Muslic told reporters.

"We had to take this risk and I think he helped us immediately, being physical

"He flicked four, five, six headers, so that means you can progress, you can stay high up on the pitch, you can create dangerous moments or having some set pieces and that was according to the plan.

"He rewarded himself with a brilliant goal, very similar against Cardiff."

Miron Muslic has backed the Slavia Prague loanee to make an impact in the season run-in after proving to be a nightmare for the Blades defence.

"He did his job excellently because, first of all, we needed to get him physical and high up on the pitch. After that, with throw-ins, crosses, or corners, he's very dangerous.

"It's hard to defend when you are 6.7, 6.8, when you are a bear of a player almost, and the ball drops exactly to him like against Cardiff and he can finish inside the box.

"He did a fantastic job today and it was very much needed also," he concluded.
