No winners, just goals: Ibrahim, Onyekachukwu on target for Arsenal in 8-goal thriller against Spurs
Published: April 29, 2025
Nigerian duo Ife Ibrahim and Sam Onyekachukwu netted their first goals at U18 level for Arsenal as the young Gunners and Tottenham Hotspur shared the spoils with a 4-4 draw in an U18 Premier League north London derby on Tuesday afternoon at Sobha Realty Training Centre, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Despite the draw, the Gunners can still clinch the U18 Premier League South title if they defeat Fulham and Aston Villa in their final two fixtures of the 2024-2025 season.
After Ellis Lehane's second minute opener for the visitors, highly-rated midfielder Max Dowman slotted home from the edge of the box to restore parity, with Ibrahim providing the assist in the eighth minute.
In what was his eighteenth career appearance in the U18 Premier League, Onyekachukwu opened his account in the division, finding the bottom corner to give Arsenal the lead.
Ibrahim curled a superb strike into the far corner to put Arsenal 3–1 up, but goals from George Feeney and Junai Byfield ensured the sides were level after 41 minutes.
Right on the stroke of halftime, Louis Zecevic-John produced a dazzling run and finished clinically into the bottom corner.
With the final kick of the match, Jamel Beggs' deflected strike salvaged a draw for Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal are sitting second in the U18 Premier League South table with 41 points, three less than Aston Villa who lead the way.
