Ola Aina fitness race continues: Nottingham Forest to assess Super Eagles star pre-Brentford

Speaking at Tuesday's pre-match press conference before his side's Premier League clash against Brentford at the City Ground, Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espírito Santo says his squad is being carefully assessed following a physically demanding FA Cup semifinal game against Manchester City this past weekend.
One of those being monitored is Super Eagles defender Ola Aina, who has been sidelined with a calf issue.
The Nigeria international was spotted at the National Stadium in London but failed a fitness test prior to the trip, leading to his omission from the gameday squad to face Manchester City.
The calf injury Ola Aina sustained in the first half of the 1–0 win over Manchester United on April 1 has kept him out of action for Nottingham Forest's past three Premier League matches against Aston Villa, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.
With Nottingham Forest fighting for crucial points, Nuno's squad management could prove decisive in their push for a UEFA Champions League spot.
Providing a squad update, Nuno Espírito Santo told reporters: "A lot of players to assess, it was a very demanding game. A lot of players finished with cramps, assessing all of them."
When asked about Aina’s potential return for Thursday's fixture, Nuno offered a cautious response.
"The same. We still have one more day assessing all the players, trying to make the right decisions," he replied.
Before his spell on the sidelines, Aina started thirty consecutive matches in this season's Premier League.
