UGOCHUKWU UKAH Out For Four Weeks
Published: August 30, 2012
28- year - old Jagiellonia Biaystok central defender Ugochukwu Ukah had surgery on his fractured forearm on Monday, Poland's sports portal sport.pl is reporting.
While making his official debut for Jagiellonia Biaystok last Friday, Ukah was brutally fouled by an opponent and had to leave the pitch after only 15 minutes. On Monday, he underwent surgery at Carolina Medical Center under the supervision of Dr. Robert Smigielski.
According to the official website of the Polish first division club, Ukah had two broken bones and could be out of action for between three to four weeks.
'' I think Ugo will be out of action for at least 3-4 weeks before he returns to training with the team. The bones have to grow together, and the example of David Plizgi [playing with a broken little toe - ed], we know that is not always fast. The hand will be immobilized on the forearm so that Ugo can not move and do not destroy what has already worked out,''assistant coach of Jagiellonia Biaystok, Marcin Popieluch said.
The Nigerian who has played over 100 games in Poland's top flight spent the previous five seasons at Widzew Lodz.
