Official: Honved Budapest Sign 'New Mikel Obi' IKENNE - PATRICK GEORGE
Published: September 01, 2012Subject to a work permit and clearance from the Nigeria Federation, former Flying Sport Academy, Lagos central midfielder Ikenne- Patrick George has joined Hungarian club Honved Budapest on a three - year contract.
In a chat with allnigeriasoccer.com, George, who has the same playing style with Chelsea's Mikel Obi, has expressed excitement about playing for one of the traditional teams in Hungary.
''I tested with Parma in May and June, but unfortunately I was not offered a contract. The opportunity came for me to train with Honved Budapest in July. After one week of tests, they were impressed with me and offered me a three - year contract which I signed on July 12. My work permit is being processed, can only make my debut when I receive the document.
''I have been told Honved Budapest is a great club with a great history. My immediate target is to win the league at the end of the season. I want to make a name for myself here, and showcase my talents to the whole world. Thanks to Flying Sport Academy for giving me the opportunity to be here,'' said Ikenne - Patrick George.
The 13 - time champions of Hungary have handed Ikenne - Patrick George the number 8 jersey. The emergent ace joins compatriot Marshall Johnson at the club.
