SAMUEL MONDAY AYINOKO: MOURINHO Said I Am A Great Player
Published: September 04, 2012
Samuel Monday Ayinoko, a product of Kwara Football Academy, made his debut for Swedish first division club ängelholm on Sunday against Hammarby, replacing Jonas Nilsson in the 65th minute.
Despite ängelholm's 1-2 loss to the home team at the Söderstadion, Stockholm, Ayinoko gave a good account of himself and created the assist for Bjorn Westerblad to score in injury time.
The 18 - year -old left Portugal's heavyweights Benfica in August to sign a contract with ängelholm. It was on the recommendations of Real Madrid gaffer Jose Mourinho that made Benfica to sign the teenager.
''Mourinho said I am a great player and one for the future. I must confess I had so many challenges in Benfica. They were not ready to give me a professional contract and that is why I left the club to sign for ängelholm . I needed first team football which they did not offer me. Now I have chance to show the whole world what I can do,'' says Ayinoko to allnigeriasoccer.com.
ängelholm have handed Samuel Ayinoko, who is primarily a central midfielder but can also play from the wings, the number 4 jersey.
