SEYI ADELEKE Settles For Salernitana
Published: September 07, 2012
SS Lazio of Itaaly fringe player, Seyifunmi Adeleke (Solari) has accepted in good fate another loan deal, which will see him line out with lower division Italian side, Salernitana in the unfolding season.
The former Golden Eaglets player and ex-Flying Eagles invitee spent the whole of last term on loan at Pergocrema but staged an 'unwelcome' move back to Lazio when the deal expired at the end of the season.
Dramatically, the Rome-based side expressed a reluctance in having Adeleke back, to the extent that initial fears erupted that he could be sidelined for the entire season this time out.
However, in a dramatic twist of favour, an offer fell on his lap from Salernitana, and he becomes the third Nigerian youngster - after Benjamin Onwuachi and Kingsley Umunegbu - to star for the modest outfit within the spate of the past four years.
The offer from Salernitana will now turn into a 'saving grace' for the product of Golden Planners and Flying Sports Academy, as Lazio had already started dragging feet on singularly paying his wages, rather than share the costs with a club where the youngster plays on loan.
