DERICK OGBU's Goal - Drought Continues
Published: September 30, 2012
22 - year -old OH Leuven forward Derick Chuka Ogbu must prove in the course of this season that he is no one season wonder.
If not for injury Ogbu would have netted more than the ten goals he was credited with at the end of the 2011- 2012 campaign.
After 9 matches for OHL this campaign and 745 minutes spent on the pitch, the former PSV Eindhoven trialist search for his first goal continues. Against Beveren on Saturday, his goal was disallowed by the referee.
''The referee said it was offside. I am yet to watch the highlight to see what I did wrong. I am just having terrible bad luck, but things are getting better now.
''I have four goals that were ruled out for offside already this season, and have hit the woodwork three times. Football is not all about goals but your contribution to the team. I am happy when my teammates score especially if we win the game,'' Derick Ogbu told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Despite his barren spell for the Flemish outfit, Ogbu, a product of Enugu Rangers Academy, has the confidence of coach Ronny Van Geneugden and the supporters.
