Dudu Omagbemi Confident KuPS Will Be A Force This Season
Published: March 22, 2013KuPS attacker Dudu Omagbemi is delighted with his brace in a pre - season friendly against second - tier AC Kajaani on Wednesday. The training match finished 6 - 1 in favor of KuPS.
''I am very happy with the goals and the assist I gave to my teammate. No team is too small or too weak to play.
AC Kajaani are a good team, it's just that KuPS were superior than them on that day,'' Omagbemi told allnigeriasoccer.com.
KuPS almost caused a sensation in this season's Europa League. The team were unlucky not to qualify for the group stages after knocking out Gaz Metan Mediaÿ, Llanelli and Maccabi Netanya in the preliminary rounds. But they failed to scale Bursaspor's hurdle.
Thereafter, the club suffered a poor run of results in the league as a result of their busy fixture schedule.
To avoid a repeat of the 2012 campaign, where the club seriously flirted with relegation, pre - season training has been intense.
''We have been working hard this pre - season. We have done well in the League Cup, even though I was not in shape then as I was sick. But I am glad I am back again on my feet and giving my best to the team.
''The club have signed some experienced players. I guess we are the team to watch out for in the 2013 season,'' says Omagbemi.
KuPS entertain Olajide Williams' MYPA in their first match of the season on Sunday, April 14.
