Kenya President, Sonko Promise =N=7.4 Million For Harambee Stars Win
Kenya’s president Uhuru Kenyatta has pledged to give the national soccer team Harambee Stars maximum support in the forthcoming FIFA World Cup qualifier match against Nigeria and subsequent matches, informs michezoafrika.com.

In a message delivered on behalf of the president by Nairobi Senator Gideon Mbuvi Sonko during a press briefing on Friday, president Uhuru has pledged to reward the national soccer team Harambee Stars with three million shillings if they beat Nigeria on June 5th in Nairobi.

At the same time, Sonko announced that he will personally reward the team with One Million Shillings should they upset the reigning African champions making it a 4 Million shillings (36,000 euros) pledge in total.

Sonko has also promised 200,000 shillings for every goal scored during the same match that will be staged at Moi International Sports Center Kasarani next week on Wednesday.

During the first round of the same meet between Kenya and Nigeria in March, Sonko and President Uhuru Kenyatta also pledged a million shillings each for a win.

The two teams drew 1-1 in Calabar but the two went ahead to reward the team with two million shillings cash money.

Goal scorer Francis Kahata was also handed 100,000 shillings in cash by Sonko.

Kenya needs a win to go to 5 points same as current group leaders Nigeria who have 5 points.

Only five teams from Africa will qualify to represent the continent in Brazil during the 214 FIFA world Cup.
