Enyeama Confesses He Was Happy With Oliech's Absense
Published: June 06, 2013Vincent Enyeama, who skippered the Super Eagles against Kenya, has confessed that the absence of Harambee Stars striker Dennis Oliech meant he had little or no work to do throughout the duration of Wednesday's game.
Recall that the AC Ajaccio forward was ineligible for the tie due to accumulation of yellow cards.
''All goalkeepers go into the match expecting superb displays while pulling match winning saves.
''It was not the case for me I was not troubled and that is a plus for me.Oliech is fast striker and hustles for the ball way too much.
''I am not saying I was happy he was suspended however but I am just happy he was absent and it made my work easier.” Enyeama told michezoafrika.com..
Adding to his previous statement, the Lille custodian said:
''The results are very much acceptable not just to the team but the entire Nigeria, now that we top the group.
''We played good under no pressure as we kept optimism of getting the results. When and how the goal could come nobody knew.''
