Coach Ricardo Mannetti Talks Tough Ahead Of Nigeria Clash
Published: June 11, 2013Ricardo Mannetti, newly appointed as Namibia gaffer following the sudden resignation of Roger Palmgren, is in confident mood ahead of the Brave Warriors clash with African champions Nigeria.
Speaking to namibiasport.com.na, he said: ''It will be very tough against Nigeria, they are after all the African champions.
''We will respect them but we are not going to roll over and let them come and dictate matters in Windhoek. Our boys are up for a fight and we will be warriors for the entire 90 minutes''
Oliver Risser and Manfred Starke are injury doubts for the game on Wednesday evening.
Foreign professionals Ronald Ketjijere, Henrico Botes, Heini Isaacks and Rudolf Bester are injured and won't be featured by Mannetti.
In addition, it is certain that captain Da Costa Angula will miss the game after picking up two cautions in previous World Cup qualifiers.
''The only thing that I can predict is that these boys will not roll over and be taken for a ride on this pitch on Wednesday evening. These guys will fight for the entire 90 minutes and they will make every Namibian fan very proud of being a Namibian,''coach Ricardo Mannetti told the Namibian website.
