Real Madrid have reportedly won the race for promising Spanish-born Nigerian left-back Victory Okorie.
Spanish sports daily AS says Real Madrid have practically secured, pending only the signature, the signing of one of Spain's most promising fullbacks Okorie, who was being closely watched by much of Europe's elite clubs.
Real Madrid have pulled off a major transfer coup, beating La Liga rivals Barcelona and Atletico Madrid to the services of the Spain U16 international, who becomes eligible to sign a professional contract in the summer of 2026.
The Deportivo Alavés defender also attracted interest from several unnamed clubs in England, Bayern Munich, plus Serie A duo Juventus and Inter Milan.
Despite more lucrative offers from abroad, the player and his representatives have prioritised remaining in Spain, believing the familiar environment will aid his development.
Victory Okorie spent part of his youth career at Rayo Vallecano before joining Alavés with his older brother Iván, a striker likened to cap-tied Spain international of Nigerian descent Samu Omorodion.
He has been described as a powerful and adventurous full-back, noted for his pace, dribbling and ability to pick out through balls.
Okorie, who turns 16 in May, is expected to begin his Real Madrid career with the Juvenil B team .
