Released Glasgow Rangers whizkid of Nigerian descent set to join Watford

Few weeks after he was released by Scottish Premiership giants Glasgow Rangers, Nigeria-eligible striker Dapo Mebude is being linked with a transfer to the English top-flight.

According to Daily Record, the Scotland youth-teamer is on the brink of securing a transfer to Premier League new boys Watford.

Mebude is in advanced talks with the Hornets and an announcement of his transfer to the Vicarage Road outfit is imminent .

Should the talented teenager complete his move to Watford, he would be the second Nigeria-eligible player to join the club in the summer transfer window after Emmanuel Dennis, who inked a five-year deal this week.

Super Eagles duo William Troost-Ekong and Isaac Success, Nigeria U23 international Tom Dele-Bashiru and Joseph Hungbo represented Watford's first team last season.

Mebude spent nine years at Glasgow Rangers, rising through the academy ranks before making his first team debut against Kilmarnock in the league two years ago.

His younger brother Adedire Mebude plays for Manchester City's U18 team.
