Report suggests Super Eagles star is not Arsenal's main target to bolster attack

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is reportedly not a priority signing for Premier League side Arsenal in the summer.

It is known that manager Mikel Arteta is in the market for two players to bolster the attack, with the futures of Alex Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah up in the air, while Folarin Balogun, back from his loan spell at Middlesbrough, is still learning the ropes.

According to the online edition of The Sun UK, Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus and Roma's Tammy Abraham have been identified as Arsenal's main transfer targets up front.

The two are believed to be ahead of Osimhen on the list of transfer targets because of their Premier League experience, with the Brazilian racking up 159 appearances in the top-flight and the Chelsea academy product 89.

From an economic perspective, Arsenal are unlikely to spend big on a player when there are cheaper alternatives of the same quality.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis would be forced into selling his record acquisition Osimhen if a bid in excess of one hundred million euros is tabled.

The 23-year-old, who is under contract with Napoli until June 2025, has also been linked with Manchester United and Newcastle United.
