Rivers United Stars Visit Super Eagles Striker Gambo In Hospital

Players of Rivers United visited Kano Pillars striker, Gambo Mohammed who was hospitalized on Sunday.<br /><br />Gambo was taken to hospital on Sunday after suffering a rupture of the tympanic membrane in the match day 12 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash against Rivers United.<br /><br />Gambo clashed in mid-air with United&rsquo;s Ghanaian striker, Wilson Andoh in the 8th minute of the contest decided at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium and was promptly taken to the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital (BMH), Port Harcourt.<br /><br />After preliminary treatment, by the two Rivers United doctors, Vincent Wachukwu and Chukwuemeka Agi, the medics at BMH took over and Gambo was back to his feet by Monday evening.<br /><br />The Pillars captain was eventually discharged on Tuesday morning and was accompanied to the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa on Tuesday by the club&rsquo;s team manager, Salisu Yaro and team doctor as they made their way back to Kano.<br /><br />Rivers United secretary, Ahmed Abdulrahman who revealed this to RIVERS UNITED MEDIA said Gambo had fully recovered and was full of gratitude for all who contributed to his rapid recovery.<br /><br />&ldquo;I personally drove Gambo to the Port Harcourt airport on Tuesday alongside two other officials of Kano Pillars.<br /><br />&ldquo;Their flight to Abuja from Port Harcourt was for 9am but we were at the airport before 7am.<br /><br />&ldquo;I just received a call from the Pillars team manager, Yaro informing me that they had arrived in Abuja from where they will continue the rest of the journey to Kano,&rdquo; he said. <br /><br />Abdulrahman visited Gambo at BMH on Monday in the company of the club&rsquo;s co-ordinator, Bashiru Badawi and three of the Rivers United players, Andoh, Sunday Rotimi and club captain, Festus Austin. <br /><br />Sammy Wejinya, MO Rivers United<br />
