Wilfred Ndidi has another tough assignment on his hands when Leicester City face off with Manchester United at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon as he faces an intriguing duel with Bruno Fernandes.
The Foxes have massively benefited from the return of the Nigeria national teamer to action from an adductor issue, winning three out of four games while keeping two clean sheets.
Last weekend, he picked up the Man-of-the-Match accolade after keeping Tottenham Hotspur's dangerous duo Harry Kane and Heung-min Son in check, and Fernandes is expected to receive the same treatment this afternoon.
Leicester City coach Brendan Rodgers has highlighted the qualities of his number 25, reiterating once again that the holding midfielder is irreplaceable in his squad.
"I’ve said before, he’s irreplaceable. There's lots of good players that we have that can do that job, but we don’t have anyone that can do it to the level that he does," Rodgers said to Leicester City's official webpage.
"His reading of the game, his agility… all the numbers after the [Spurs] game show how good he is in covering space, but it’s also the confidence he gives to the other players.
"He was immense in the game, against a really good midfield. If you think of [Moussa] Sissoko and [Pierre-Emile] Højbjerg that were in there, he was absolutely outstanding."
Ndidi has faced Manchester United seven times since his move to Leicester City in January 2017, losing six games and drawing one.
