Sammy Sodje Fingered In Match Fixing Scandal

The National Crime Agency is investigating a report by British newspaper <i>The Sun</i> which claimed that Nigeria international Sam Sodje could influence the outcome of matches in return for a fee. <br /><br />The 34 - year - old defender claimed that he could arrange for a player to be booked in exchange for 30,000 pounds.<br /><br />In the same vein, Sodje said that he received 70,000 pounds for being sent off in February when Portsmouth lost 1 - 0 to Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park.<br /><br />The Super Eagle hit Oldham midfielder Jose Baxter in the groin to get sent off .<br /><br />Sam Sodje, now a free agent, has had spells with Reading, Charlton Athletic and Notts County.<br /><br /><br />
