Shearer, Deeney, Whoscored name Liverpool's Ngumoha in PL TOTW after historic goal

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer and Watford icon Troy Deeney have included Liverpool teenage sensation of Nigerian descent Rio Ngumoha in their Premier League Teams of the Week following the conclusion of the matchweek 32 fixtures.

Ngumoha opened the scoring as Liverpool defeated Alex Iwobi's Fulham 2-0 on Saturday, April 11.

And in doing so,  the England U19 international became the youngest Premier League goalscorer at Anfield, aged just 17 years and 225 days old.

In a 4-3-3 formation selected by Shearer, Ngumoha features in a three-man midfield alongside Leeds United’s Noah Okafor and Bournemouth's Alex Scott.

In his own Team of the Week, Deeney has included the Liverpool starlet in a five-man midfield, alongside Alex Scott of Bournemouth, Casemiro of Manchester United, Rayan Cherki of Manchester City, and Noah Okafor of Leeds United.

Explaining his decision to select Ngumoha, Deeney explained: "What a talent this kid is! Young, energetic, carefree. He is not afraid to go at his defender and makes something happen every single time.

"It was a wonderful goal. He just looks like a young kid having fun, which is the best part about his game."

Ngumoha is one of two Liverpool players included in Whoscored.com's Team of the Week, alongside Dominik Szoboszlai.

This season, Ngumoha has scored two goals in fourteen Premier League appearances, including two starts.
