Sheffield United are plotting a move for Nigeria international striker Josh Maja in the January transfer window.
According to 20 Minute journalist Clement Carpentier via Twitter, the Blades are 'very interested' in signing the Bordeaux number 9 when the transfer window opens for business.
And it is claimed that Sheffield United are readying a bid of between €6m and €7m.
The South Yorkshire have struggled for goals in the 2020-2021 season, scoring 8 in fourteen matches and only Burnley have a worse record in the Premier League, and the potential capture of Maja could provide boost of energy to their attack.
Sheffield United face competition to sign Maja as Championship outfit Birmingham City have also been credited with an interest.
The 21-year-old is under contract with Bordeaux, whom he joined from Sunderland, until the end of the 2022-2023 season.
Since moving to France, Maja has registered 11 goals in 45 matches for The Girondins.
