Uganda head coach Paul Put has urged his players to be fully prepared and highly concentrated ahead of their clash against Nigeria, admitting the Super Eagles' quality poses a major challenge.
Nigeria have already sealed qualification for the knockout stage after their win over Tunisia, and many expect the Super Eagles to rotate their squad for the upcoming clash against the Cranes.
Speaking ahead of the match, Put noted that the final decisions regarding team selection will be made by Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle.
"It could be possible. Some players picked up yellow cards, the coach will decide. I cannot come in the mind of the coach," he said.
Despite any potential changes, the Belgian tactician expects Nigeria to field a strong side and highlighted the depth of quality in the West African team.
"We are expecting that the team will play, so we know the individual quality of Nigerian players, it is high level."
Put pointed out that many Nigerian players compete at the highest level in Europe, which gives them a physical and technical advantage. He stressed that Uganda must be disciplined and alert throughout the match.
"They play in high level competitions in Europe. We know their strength and we have to be very concentrated. We have to be very aware about the things and we have to be prepared and try to win the duels. It is important because this is one of the strengths of Nigeria," he concluded.
Nigeria sit top of Group C with six points and, despite already sealing qualification for the knockout stage, must avoid defeat to finish as group winners.
Uganda, on the other hand, are rooted to the bottom of the group with just one point and face a must-win situation if they are to keep their hopes of progressing to the next round alive.
