'Something very big for me and my family' - Super Eagles striker Moffi proud to wear Porto colors

Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has expressed his joy at the chance to play for FC Porto, describing the move as a proud and special moment for both himself and his family.

The Nigeria international joined the Portuguese giants on loan from OGC Nice during the winter transfer window in a deal that will keep him at the Estádio do Dragão until the end of the current campaign.

Moffi has already begun settling into life in Portugal, making his debut in Porto's narrow 1–0 victory over CD Nacional.

Since then, the 26-year-old striker has featured in four league matches and opened his scoring account in a 3–1 win against FC Arouca.

Speaking ahead of Porto's UEFA Europa League clash with VfB Stuttgart, the Super Eagles striker reflected on the importance of the move and the motivation it has given him.

"I feel immense pride in representing FC Porto. It's something very big for me and also for my family," Moffi told Record.

Moffi also highlighted the positive atmosphere within the squad, stressing that unity and hard work have been key factors in the team's preparation.

"As the manager said, there's good energy, no negativity. We have to stay focused. We have to want to play, want to improve, and be a real family. That's why we've been working hard these last few days and weeks," he said.

Moffi also praised Porto manager Francesco Farioli, noting that the Italian tactician places strong emphasis on details that help players elevate their performances.

"It comes down to the small details. The touch, the right moment to appear, the timing... all of that. As a player, that's what differentiates you from everyone else, the details. And that's exactly what he's been trying to do in the last two or three years," he explained.

The striker also addressed criticism surrounding his performances in recent high-profile matches against Portuguese rivals SL Benfica and Sporting CP.

He insisted that the players remain focused on contributing whenever called upon by the manager, stressing that the squad's confidence remains intact despite the disappointing results.

"When we are called upon to intervene, it's because the manager trusts us and the club trusts us. We did our part and were unlucky not to score and not to win the games. But that's not what we're focused on. We're focused on the present and on tomorrow's [today's] game," he added.

As Porto prepare for their crucial European encounter in Germany, Moffi will be eager to silence his critics and deliver another strong performance that could help the Portuguese side secure a positive result on the continental stage.
