Nathan Tella has taken to social media to share his thoughts following Southampton's 4-3 loss on penalties to Chelsea in the last sixteen of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
Making his fourth start of the season in all competitions, the Nigeria-eligible winger was in action for 66 minutes at Stamford Bridge, before making way for Theo Walcott.
Kai Havertz converted from a corner to give Chelsea the lead just
before half-time and Ché Adams leveled proceedings for Saints in the
47th minute to take the game to penalties.
Chelsea won the resulting penalty shootout with Reece James stepping up to score the winning penalty.
Tella has admitted that he was disappointed over the shootout loss to the European champions.
The former Arsenal schoolboy wrote on Instagram : "Disappointing way to go out on penalties. But once again thank you for the continued support".
Tella was on target against Newport County in the second round of the Carabao Cup before registering an assist in the next round against Sheffield United.
