Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle will not call up replacements for defenders Ajayi and Onyemaechi

Allnigeriasoccer.com can report with certainty that Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has decided against calling up replacements for Semi Ajayi and Bruno Onyemaechi ahead of the international friendly against Jordan.

The two defenders have departed the team’s training camp in Antalya, Turkey, following Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Iran on Friday afternoon.

Ajayi, who was named in the starting lineup, was substituted in the second half, with Emmanuel Fernandez coming on to make his debut for Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Onyeamachi featured for the full entire duration as the Super Eagles secured victory over the Asian side.

After featuring in the match, Ajayi was absent from the team’s next training session on Saturday as preparations began for the clash against Jordan.

The Hull City defender was later granted permission to leave camp for personal reasons, while Bruno Onyemaechi also departed following the birth of his child.

Despite the absence of the duo, Chelle has opted to proceed without calling up replacements, trusting the options available within the squad.

Nigeria will now shift focus to their next test against Jordan as they continue their build-up toward the forthcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, aiming to sustain momentum and further strengthen team cohesion.
