Moses Simon has credited Super Eagles coaching staff led by Augustine Eguavoen for his brilliant display during the national team's 1-0 win over seven-time champions Egypt in their Africa Cup of Nations opener on Tuesday evening.
Simon was a constant headache for the Egyptians with his dribbles, feints and pace, and was unlucky not to open the scoring when his shot found the side-netting in the 26th minute.
He left the pitch to be replaced by Alex Iwobi in the 90th minute after arguably one of his best games for the Super Eagles.
The Nantes winger acknowledged that he put in a massive performance and was fired up for the game against the Pharaohs.
"I'd say all thanks to the technical staff, the coach for giving the team the confidence to play," Simon said at the end of training on Wednesday.
"Of course it's all about the team spirit so it's not an individual process"
Simon remained modest when asked for his thoughts on the Super Eagles sealing qualification to the last sixteen with a game to spare if they defeat Sudan on Saturday.
"The game against Sudan is something we need to be careful with because now in Africa there is no small team so we need to face them the way we played against Egypt.
"We have to do our best and give one hundred percent to have the three points," he concluded.
