Super Eagles duo Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey have missed out on Fulham's Royal Caribbean Legend of the Match award for matchday twenty seven of the Premier League.
The Cottagers have officially announced that Fulham fans have voted Raúl Jiménez as the Royal Caribbean Legend of the Match after his brace in the 3-1 win over Sunderland.
Bassey and Iwobi were instrumental in Fulham’s victory, with the midfielder contributing a goal and an assist, while the defender won a penalty that was successfully converted by Jiménez in the 61st minute.
The Mexican forward’s successful spot-kick further cemented his status as the Premier League’s best-ever penalty taker.
Jiménez remains the only player to have taken and scored 13 penalties in the league, with Manchester City legend Yaya Touré next in line with a perfect record from 11 attempts.
Fulham’s number 7 claimed the award with 61.61% of the votes, while Iwobi finished second with 14.43% and Bassey secured third place with 13.69%.
Iwobi earned praise for his brilliant performance in Fulham’s away win at Sunderland, earning a spot in Whoscored’s Team of the Week.
Bassey was equally impressive, leading the team with eight clearances, alongside one interception and three blocks.
