Super Eagles forward Salim Fago Lawal was forced off in the 11th minute on Sunday as FC Viktoria Plzen secured a 2-0 victory over Bohemians Praha 1905 in the Chance Liga.
Lawal, who joined Plzeň from Croatian side NK Istra 1961 during the winter transfer window, was quickly replaced by Mohamed Toure.
The injury occurred after Fago received an excellent pass from Dávid Krčík and attempted a shot on goal in the 9th minute.
The effort was saved by Bohemians goalkeeper Tomáš Frühwald, but Fago remained on the pitch, clearly in discomfort.
He was treated by the medical staff on the sidelines, and the decision was made to substitute him in the 11th minute.
Toure was already warming up and promptly entered the game to continue the home side’s attacking efforts.
After the substitution, Plzeň continued to assert control over the match. Mohamed Toure made an immediate impact, positioning himself effectively in the attacking third.
The breakthrough for the home team came in the 34th minute when Toure scored, finishing from close range after a series of passes in the penalty area. This goal gave Plzeň a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
The second half saw Plzeň increase their advantage. In the 81st minute, Dávid Krčík converted a penalty into the bottom left corner, extending the lead to 2-0 and securing the victory.
The match concluded with Plzeň comfortably holding onto their lead.
