The Super Eagles' medical team has issued an injury update following Nigeria's convincing 3–1 victory over Uganda's Cranes in their final Group C fixture at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Eric Chelle's side finished top of the group, inspired by a maiden international brace from Raphael Onyedika and a first-half opener from Paul Onuachu.
The headline team news was the inclusion of Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Alebiosu in the starting XI, a decision that cap-tied the London-born fullback to Nigeria.
The Hale End Academy graduate completed the full 90 minutes on his senior debut, but it has since emerged that he played through discomfort.
Alebiosu sustained a deep cut to his right leg during the encounter with Uganda, casting doubt over his availability for the remainder of the tournament.
He is not the only Super Eagle requiring medical attention as Panathinaikos forward Cyriel Dessers is nursing a thigh problem and is scheduled to undergo a scan on Wednesday to assess the extent of the injury.
The former Rangers striker is yet to make his Afcon debut, having remained an unused substitute against Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda.
Meanwhile, Frank Onyeka and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali were rested for the clash with the Cranes after picking up injuries on matchday two of Group C.
