Super Eagles player ratings: Iwobi creates, Lookman delivers, Osimhen wasteful, Simon lively

Allnigeriasoccer.com provides the player ratings for the Super Eagles players following their 2-1 victory over the Taifa Stars.

The starters

Goalkeeper

Stanley Nwabali (6/10):  The Chippa United captain could have done better in closing down Charles M’Mombwa during Tanzania’s equalizer early in the second half.

Defenders

Calvin Bassey (7.5/10) : Bassey delivered a strong, composed performance in defence, forming a solid partnership with Semi Ajayi.

Semi Ajayi (8/10) : The Hull City centre-back will be pleased to have scored his second international goal for the Super Eagles.

Bright Osayi-Samuel (7/10) : Osayi-Samuel impressed with a balanced display, contributing effectively in both defence and attack.

Zaidu Sanusi (6.5/10) : Sanusi was excellent in possession but was caught out of position in the build-up to Tanzania’s equalizer.

Midfielders and forwards

Wilfred Ndidi (7/10) : The Super Eagles captain covered large areas of the pitch, showing energy and commitment while winning key midfield battles.

Alex Iwobi (7.5/10): Iwobi played an influential role in midfield, helping Nigeria maintain control and dictate the tempo. He provided the assist for Nigeria's opening goal netted by Ajayi.

Ademola Lookman (8/10) : Lookman will be delighted with his decisive goal, restoring Nigeria’s lead just two minutes after Tanzania drew level.

Samuel Chukwueze (6/10) : Chukwueze was lively in the first half but his influence waned after the break before he was substituted.

Akor Adams (6.5/10): The Sevilla striker came close to opening the scoring in the first half, with his header agonizingly coming off the crossbar.

Victor Osimhen 6/10 : Osimhen will be disappointed not to have found the net, having missed several clear chances, particularly in the first half.

The substitutes

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru (6/10): The Lazio midfielder came on for Samuel Chukwueze in the second half and added energy to Nigeria’s midfield.

Moses Simon (7/10) : Introduced for Akor Adams, Simon was lively on the flanks, impressing with his take-ons and chance creation.

Paul Onuachu (N/A) : Came on in the closing minutes to replace Victor Osimhen, with little time to make an impact.
