Super Eagles Star Collins Speaks On His Wonder Goal Against Bayern Munich
Super Eagles defender Jamilu Collins scored a goal of the season contender as Paderborn were beaten 3-2 by champions Bayern Munich on match day six in the German Bundesliga on Saturday, September 28.
From 25 yards out, the left-back beat Germany's first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Neuer in the 84th minute after the ball fell to him from a corner not properly cleared by the Bayern defence.
Collins admitted it was a tough game and revealed that he attempted to score in the first half but was unsuccessful.
Speaking to dw.com post-match, the Nigeria international said : ''That was certainly the hardest game of my career. I tried it in the first half, but the ball missed, but I really wanted to score a goal''.
Asked if it was his most beautiful career goal, Collins answered : ''We'll see, there's something coming''.
Prior to netting his first goal for Paderborn, the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations star had played 65 games for the club without hitting the net.
The 25-year-old has gone the distance in all the matches contested by Paderborn in the Bundesliga in the new season.
