Nigeria striker Kelechi Iheanacho has declared that morale is high in Gernot Rohr’s squad ahead of Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Libya at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
Iheanacho started last month in the 3-0 stroll past Seychelles and has insisted that the win was a worthwhile exercise for the Eagles
With a tough test against group leaders Libya ahead, the Leicester City forward believes that Nigeria are capable of securing a crucial victory.
Iheanacho said : “It’s good for confidence. Sometimes you play in games like this and it can be a horrible game when you don’t play well but still win. But we had a good result and a good performance and that’s very encouraging.
“All the things we worked on in training came off and it all went well, so the manager is happy. The lads are more than experienced to go into the next game and do the same.
“Obviously it will be a tougher game but with the players we have and how we’re playing at the minute I think we can do the same.”
