Super Falcons defender Ugo Njoku has been banned for three matches by Fifa for an elbow jab against Australia&rsquo;s Samantha Kerr during a Women&rsquo;s World Cup clash last Friday.<br /><br />It means the Rivers Angels star will no longer be available for selection except Nigeria manages to advance to the semi - finals of the competition taking place in Canada. <br /><br />And if the African champions crash out in the first round, the 20 - year - old will sit out Nigeria&rsquo;s next two competitive fixtures.<br /><br />Ugo Njoku has also been fined 3,000 Swiss francs (equivalent of =N=640,000) by Fifa after video replays showed she was found guilty of violent conduct.<br /><br />But Nigeria coach Edwin Okon has defended the 20 - year - old, saying her action was not deliberate.<br /><br />This could be a one - off incident as Ugo Njoku&rsquo;s disciplinary record at Fifa tournaments has been exemplary, having been cautioned only once in 15 matches.<br /><br />Photo Credit : fifa.com<br />
