Middlesbrough are on the verge of announcing the signing of talented Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker.

The Northern Echo says Baker is heading to Teesside on a two-year loan from Stamford Bridge.

Baker, an England U21 international, was previously on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, Milton Keynes Dons and Vitesse.

The young midfielder joined Chelsea in 2005 from Luton Town, and rose through the ranks before making his professional debut against Derby County in the FA Cup back in January 2014.

Baker is eligible to represent the Jamaican and English national teams.
