Manager of FC Porto, Francesco Farioli, has praised Terem Moffi for his impressive all-round performance in the club’s 2–1 victory over VfB Stuttgart in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening.
Moffi, who joined Porto on loan from OGC Nice during the winter transfer window, opened the scoring for the Portuguese giants in the 21st minute with a composed finish.
The Nigerian striker showed great calmness in front of goal, slotting the ball into the net after a well-timed pass from Borja Sainz.
The goal marked Moffi’s second for Porto since completing his January move as he continues to adapt to life at the club.
However, Farioli revealed that it was not just the goal that caught his attention.
Speaking after the match, the Italian tactician highlighted Moffi’s work rate, pressing, and ability to compete physically as key elements of his performance.
"They were the last players to arrive and are trying to get into the rhythm," Farioli told Sport TV via A Bola.
"Terem had a great game. Besides the goal, he helped us in duels and was good without the ball, pressing."
The performance will come as a major boost for the Nigerian striker, who is looking to rediscover his best form following a challenging spell in France prior to his move to Portugal.
With his confidence growing, Moffi will hope to build on the display and maintain his momentum ahead of the league match against Moreirense.
The attacker will also be keen to maintain and improve the performance in the coming weeks as he aims to push for a return to the Nigeria national football team squad ahead of the upcoming international window.
