Former Super Eagles midfielder Sunday Oliseh has lauded Alex Iwobi's performance in the emphatic 4-0 win over Mozambique's Mambas on Monday night.
Iwobi, who featured for the entire duration of the match, played a huge role in the buildup to the Super Eagles' opening two goals in the first half.
The former Arsenal star was pivotal in the midfield for Nigeria, providing precise passes to connect the forward players in dangerous positions.
Speaking during his commentary on CAF TV, as monitored by allnigeriasoccer.com, Oliseh praised Iwobi for his involvement in the opening goal, emphasizing how the pass took out the entire defensive line.
"All these started from Iwobi, this is what we call the pre-assist pass. That pass tore the defense apart," he said.
"What a finish from Lookman. The goal is what we talk about but it is the pass that comes before the assist."
The former Juventus midfielder also praised his impact on the second goal and overall contribution to the game.
"What a pass. We must give kudos to what Iwobi is doing out there today," he added.
The victory ensured Nigeria progressed to the quarterfinal, recorded her first clean sheet, and kept her hope of winning the fourth AFCON title alive.
