Allwell Nwakali, who is the brother of Kelechi Nwakali, has set the record straight regarding the future of the former Arsenal midfielder at Spanish Segunda Division club SD Huesca amid speculation in the local media that he has been declared surplus to requirements.
The former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles skipper ended his association with Arsenal last summer, joining SD Huesca on a permanent deal but has been unable to feature for the La Liga promotion hopefuls due to a work permit issue.
"Kelechi is with his club Huesca, he has not moved to any third division club in Spain,'' said Allwell Nwakali to allnigeriasoccer.com.
"He has been in Spain since last week. Even as I speak to you he is almost through with his work permit.
"Everything is almost through, he is registered at SD Huesca and will be playing with the first team there. Now that he is registered there he has to do his best."
Before heading to Spain, Kelechi Nwakali was maintaining his fitness with regular training sessions at his previous club, ASJ Academy in Owerri.
