Galatasaray legend and former assistant coach Hasan Şaş has suggested that Victor Osimhen could leave the Turkish giants this summer, claiming Juventus may adopt a similar approach to Atlético Madrid's strategy in securing Ademola Lookman in their pursuit of the Nigerian striker.
Osimhen, who joined the Yellow-Reds on a permanent deal, has enjoyed a sensational spell at Rams Park, registering 52 goals and 11 assists in 63 appearances across all competitions.
His prolific form has fueled speculation about a possible reunion with former manager Luciano Spalletti in Turin.
Speaking on the sporON YouTube channel, Şaş suggested that Galatasaray may struggle to retain the Nigerian international if Europe's elite come calling.
"I don't think Osimhen will stay at Galatasaray," he said as quoted by Karadeniz Gazete. "Even if he performs well in the Juventus match and helps Galatasaray advance to the next round. They'll take him from there."
Şaş also revealed that Galatasaray could move quickly to secure the services of Mauro Icardi on an extended deal should Osimhen depart at the end of the season.
"The moment Osimhen reaches a point where he could leave Galatasaray, Icardi's contract will be extended immediately," he disclosed.
He compared Osimhen's situation to Ademola Lookman's recent transfer to Atlético Madrid.
The former Galatasaray forward noted that despite interest from Turkish sides including Fenerbahçe S.K., the Spanish club swiftly concluded the deal by meeting the financial demands.
"I've been saying Lookman here since September, then Fenerbahçe came out and said 'We'll get him'. Then Atletico Madrid, a team that wasn't even on the market, paid the money and took him," he added.
Şaş believes the Italian club could replicate Atlético Madrid's strategy in signing Ademola Lookman from Atalanta as they pursue the services of Victor Osimhen.
"They'll do the same with Osimhen. They'll take him and leave. As long as a European team needs something, they won't look at the price."
"If Osimhen gets past the Juventus match, they'll come alone, take him and leave."
Despite only completing a permanent move to the Yellow-Reds in the summer, uncertainty still clouds Osimhen's long-term future, with just one year remaining on his contract.
