Torino are reportedly in the market for a fullback to provide cover for Chelsea Academy product Ola Aina.
Respected Italian sports daily Tuttosport says The Maroons want to sign a new fullback with Aina set to be away on international duty for the Super Eagles at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Another reason Torino are keen to bolster their defensive ranks when the market reopens is that right-back Wilfried Singo could also be involved in the tournament with the Ivory Coast and Cristian Ansaldi is an injury prone player.
A defender with offensive attributes would be an ideal signing for manager Ivan Juric's team.
Aina's versatility is one of his key strengths as he is comfortable playing as a right-back, left-back, right wing-back and left wing-back, having started his career at Chelsea as a winger.
In the current season, the former England U19 skipper has started nine of the twelve matches contested by Torino in the Italian top division and was introduced off the bench twice.
Aina was a non-playing substitute for the Super Eagles in their recent World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde.
