Kaye Furo, son of retired Nigeria international centre-back Furo Iyenemi, is in contention to make his Champions League debut on Wednesday when Club Brugge host Arsenal at the Jan Breydelstadion in Bruges.
Ahead of the matchday six fixture, Club Brugge parted ways with head coach Nicky Hayen following a poor run of results, appointing Croatian tactician Ivan Leko as his replacement.
Leko has named Furo and Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika in his 23-man squad for the clash against the Gunners.
Both Nigerian players earned their spots after scoring in Club Brugge's previous outing, though their goals could not prevent a 3-2 defeat.
Furo is yet to feature in the Champions League proper but was an unused substitute against Monaco and Bayern Munich.
He did, however, play 22 minutes in the Champions League playoff round match against Rangers.
Previously, two players of Nigerian descent—Daniel Amokachi and Antonio Nusa—represented Club Brugge in the Champions League while still teenagers. Furo will now hope to follow in their footsteps.
Since making his first-team debut against Rangers in August 2025, the 18-year-old has featured in six matches for Club Brugge.
