The Golden Eaglets are off to Togo for the West B Zone U17 Tournament, which acts as qualifiers for the 2021 Africa U17 Cup of Nations.
Nigeria U17 coach Fatai Amoo has picked a 25-man group for the tournament containing three goalkeepers, six defenders, six midfielders and ten strikers.
Nigeria, Ghana and Ivory Coast make up the three teams in Group B, while hosts Togo will do battle with Niger Republic, Burkina Faso and Benin Republic in Group A.
Coach Amoo has made it clear that it is important to win their opening game against Ivory Coast on Wednesday so as to take pressure off the team.
Speaking to reporters, Amoo said : "We know the first game is always a tough game and if you can do well in your first game that will stabilize your team, and that's what we have worked for.
"That's what we envisage that should happen to us so that we can be at a very comfortable position in terms of winning the game.
"Three points will kind of boost the confidence of the team".
The Golden Eaglets will face Ghana at the Stade Municipal on Saturday, January 9.
