With an Instagram post accompanied by a video, Nigeria international William Troost-Ekong has sent a parting message to everyone associated with Udinese ahead of an imminent move to English Championship club Watford.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham youth-teamer has been declared surplus to requirements at the Bianconeri, the flagship club owned by the Pozzo family, and will now be heading to Vicarage Road to continue his career.
As translated by Mundo Udinese, Troost-Ekong said : "Good morning! Just a few words to thank everyone. After two special years, the time has come to change and leave.
"Special thanks to all my friends and teammates, the staff, the club and of course our fans. Thanks a lot to everyone and a big good luck to Udinese. Forza Udinese always. "
Troost-Ekong's move to Watford has been endorsed by Ben Wilmot, with the young Hornets central defender commenting on the post : "Get yourself over here lad 👊ðŸ»ðŸ‘‘".
Wilmot was teammates with the Super Eagles star at Udinese in the second half of the 2018-2019 season.
Troost-Ekong is departing Udinese after making 66 appearances in all competitions, 65 of them in the Serie A.
