Werder Bremen striker Victor Boniface was briefly stopped by police shortly after his team's 2-1 home victory over VfL Wolfsburg in a Bundesliga match on Friday evening, according to a report by Deichstube.
The incident occurred as Boniface was leaving the Weser Stadium in his white SUV, attempting to drive through a street that had been temporarily closed off.
Videos circulating on social media captured the exchange between the 24-year-old Nigerian international and a policewoman.
The discussion appeared to focus on Boniface's attempt to pass through the restricted area.
Several fans who had gathered nearby voiced their support during the encounter.
One clip captures a supporter saying, "Hey, we won, let him go!" while another shouted, "Hello, he still has to go on the stream, play CoD," referring to Boniface’s known interest in gaming.
Fans also chanted the striker's name as the interaction concluded.
After the brief verbal exchange, Boniface complied with traffic regulations, turned around, and took an alternative route away from the Osterdeich, ending the incident without further complication.
