What Jimoh-Aloba said after scoring first senior goal for Aston Villa with his mum in the stands
Aston Villa youngster Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba has spoken of his delight after netting his first senior goal on his European debut against RB Salzburg at Villa Park.
The academy product finished off a low cross from fellow graduate Kadan Young to seal a dramatic 3-2 victory for Villa in the UEFA Europa League.
The goal proved to be a special moment for the teenager, marking his first senior strike for the club on his European debut, with his mother present in the stands.
Reflecting after the match, Jimoh-Aloba described the achievement as deeply emotional, expressing his joy at reaching such a milestone in front of his family.
"It's a proud moment for me on my European debut," Jimoh-Aloba was quoted as saying by Aston Villa's official website.
"It's really nice to make my family proud because of all the hard work.
The 19-year-old hailed the experience as the highlight of his professional career to date, despite having already endured a mix of highs and lows.
"I've had a lot of lows this season, a lot of highs, but this is top," he added.
Born in Birmingham, Jimoh-Aloba has represented England at several youth levels but remains eligible to play for the Super Eagles, having yet to make a senior appearance for the Three Lions.
The youngster, who made his Premier League bow against Arsenal, will be eager to build on that experience and establish himself as a key figure for the club in the years ahead.
