Joe Aribo made his first appearance for the Light Blues in 2022 and the versatile midfielder was joined in the starting lineup by left-footed central defender Calvin Bassey while Leon Balogun missed out on the matchday squad.

The Nigeria international assisted Manchester United loanee Amad Diallo to score his first goal in Rangers colours when he found the Ivorian perfectly at the back post in the fourth minute.

Jordan White and Regan Charles-Cook found the net to give the home team a shock 2-1 lead at the interval.

James Tavernier and Connor Goldson were on target to put Rangers 3-2 up but they were denied all three points in stoppage time when Wright netted the equaliser.

Rangers and Nigeria fans were impressed by the eye-catching performance of Aribo and waxed lyrical about the Super Eagles star during and after the game.

Some fans are of the opinion that he is good enough to play for Premier League giants such as Liverpool and Manchester United, others hailed his work rate and dedication.
