Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood has taken aim at Samuel Chukwueze for failing to convert a clear-cut chance during Fulham's 2-1 victory over Spurs on Saturday night.
Chukwueze, making his first Premier League start for the Cottagers, delivered an impressive display and registered an assist for Kenny Tete's opener.
But the Nigerian winger squandered a golden opportunity to score his first goal for the club after beating a man before seeing his 20-yard effort clip the post.
Speaking on Premier League Productions, monitored by allnigeriasoccer.com, Sherwood noted that the chance had been coming, adding that Chukwueze positioned himself well but failed to make it count.
"It just keeps coming with the chances. Chukwueze, there, he just gets it over to the side and whips it into that corner. I think he should do better there," Sherwood said at halftime.
Sherwood admitted the Nigerian forward may have been 'unlucky' but stressed that he opened up too much space for goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario to read the attempt.
"You might say he's unlucky, but the goal just opened up, and he showed Vicario a little too much respect there by going for the corner."
Chukwueze, on loan from AC Milan, has contributed three assists in six league appearances as he continues settling into life in England.
