Arsenal have added promising midfielder Emerson Nwaneri to their UEFA Youth League squad ahead of Wednesday's clash with Bayern Munich at Meadow Park, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Emerson is the younger brother of history-making midfielder Ethan Nwaneri, the youngest player ever to feature in the English top-flight and currently being monitored by the Nigeria Football Federation and Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle.
Born in 2010, Emerson has earned a temporary promotion to Arsenal's U19 squad on the back of a string of standout displays for the U16s.
He was the star of the Premier League U16 National Finals, scoring twice as the young Gunners overturned a deficit to defeat Aston Villa 2-1 in the showpiece at St George's Park.
In September, he hit a hat-trick in a seven-goal thriller against Chelsea, underlining his rising profile within the academy setup.
The following month, he made his competitive debut for Arsenal U18s, coming off the bench for the final eight minutes of a 2-1 defeat to Fulham in the U18 Premier League.
Should he make his UEFA Youth League bow on Wednesday afternoon, Emerson will wear the number 68 shirt.
He is expected to sign a scholarship deal with Arsenal before the start of the 2026–27 season.
